Bafana Bafana international Bongani Zungu could end up staying at Portuguese outfit Vitoria de Guimaraes despite reports linking him with a move away from the club.
Zungu has been heavily linked with a big money move elsewhere, with Soccer Laduma reporting that Benfica, Porto, Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield Wednesday having all expressed their interest in signing the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.
According to Soccer Laduma, Vitoria are working tirelessly in their attempts to keep Zungu at the club with the 24-year-old having quickly established himself as a pivotal part of the team despite missing the start of last season due to injury.
Zungu helped the club qualify for the UEFA Europa League and also found the back of the net in the Portuguese Cup Final defeat to Benfica, subsequently sky-rocketing his value in the country.
The former AmaTuks star today posted a picture of him donning the Number 10 jersey – an expected ploy by the club to try and twist his arm perhaps:
