Real Madrid Manager, Zinedine Zidane has insisted that his wishes above bringing in new signings this transfer window is good health and happiness among his players.
While speaking with reporters for the first time in 2018 ahead of their Copa del Rey round of 16 clash with second-tier side Numancia. Zidane said: “We are in three competitions and we have the same excitement and we will do everything to give the maximum in every game. We return to the Cup and hope to continue into the next round,”
Real has surprisingly endured a frustrating time in front of goal this season as Ballon d’Or winner, Christiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have all managed to score less than 10 goals in 16 matches in the league. However, Zidane does not feel pressured to bring in a new face to solve the goal scoring challenge.
He consented that he met with Club President, Florentino Perez recently but he said that they only discussed “everything”.
“We spoke about everything and also about reinforcements. Today, there will be no signings, but until January 31, anything can happen,” he commented, adding that what is more important to him is “for no player to leave the squad”.
This will be Zidane’s first press conference in Spain since they suffered an embarrassing 3:0 defeat to rivals Barcelona at the Bernabeu in December, a result that left them to be 14 points off league leaders, Barcelona.
